The challenge : To take out the old speed drives and carry out the implementation of two new ones of 10 MW, connection and tests, all in 6 days.
Project objective : The original installation, done by GE in the 70s, was to be refurbished during factory shutdown.
Fos-sur-mer installation comprises of 2 speed drives for 10 MW continuous current motor (Voltage : 700 V – Current 15000 A). Each speed drive is composed of 4 cabinets (L 8400 x H 2000 x D 1800 mm). The new cabinets and speed drives were built by BOSSARD and designed by GE.
In 6 days, BOSSARD took out the old speed drives, did the fitting, connecting and tests of 2 10 MW speed drives.
